Discipleship Training School (DTS)
What is DTS?
The Discipleship Training School seeks to bring you into a (more) intimate relationship with God and it will give you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.
The course is a full-time program that lasts for 5 months. It consists of two parts: 3 months of lecture phase and 2 months of outreach phase. In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His word. You will not only learn from the lectures, but also from living in a community and practical training in the local ministries. The outreach phase focusses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense cross-cultural experience.
Examples of topics that will be discussed are:
- Hearing Gods voice
- The Father heart of God
- Identity/wholeness in Christ
- The cross/work of Jesus
- The Nature and Character of God
- Biblical Worldview
- Intercession and spiritual warfare
- Holy Spirit
- Relationships
Heart for Harvest DTS in Zomba
Our next Heart for Harvest DTS will be from 5 April 2024 – 24 August 2024. To give you a bit of a picture of what a DTS looks like, we’ll explain a few things about the Heart for Harvest DTS.
Lecture phase
The lectures of the DTS will be given in English. During our Heart for Harvest Discipleship Training School you will be able to lay or deepen the foundation of your Christian faith and you learn to step out in your faith. During the lecture phase we come across many different topics. The school will involve growing and engaging in your relationship with God and fellow students, while learning about the topics decribed above.
Outreach phase
After the lecture phase there will be 8 weeks of outreach, where you will put the things learned in school into practice. Having a heart for harvest first of all means to have a heart for people, to have compassion like Jesus. It includes evangelising to bring in the harvest of the Kingdom, but also to follow-up and disciple those that are new to following Jesus and to have compassion on those in need. During this school we will focus on having a heart and compassion like Jesus for those around us, as well in the lecture phase as during outreach. During DTS you might come across those rejected by society, prostitutes, alcohol addicts, etc. and we aim to reach out to them, just like Jesus showed us.
COSTS FOR DTS :
Lecture phase:
The costs for lecture phase (incl. lodging, food and tuition) are as follows (based on the Per Capita Income of the nation in which the student has citizenship):
Malawian Applicants: All Malawians: $300
Zone 1: Nations from Africa: $450
Zone 2: Nations from Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and South Africa: $950
Zone 3: Nations from North America, Europe and the Pacific: $1200
- Children under two years FREE
- Children 2-6 years: Malawi $50 / Z1: $60 / Z2: $150 / Z3: $200
- Children 7- 17 years: Malawi $120 / Z1: $150 / Z2: $300 / Z3: $350
Outreach:
These costs are separate from the lecture phase and will differ depending on where the outreach will be. By a rough estimate of outreach fees will be about the same as your lecture phase fees, excluding possible flight costs.

Registration fees:
- All Malawian residents applying from within the country shall pay $5, and $7 for couples.
- All applicants applying from abroad shall pay $50 each, and $75 for couples.
